NEWS & UPDATES
JUNE 26, 2015 - GARY WEHRKAMP OF SHADOW GALLERY AND MAEGI II
A longtime friend and a tremendously talented artist; Gary Wehrkamp of Shadow Gallery will be lending some of his extraordinary guitar talent to Maegi II: Tales from the King's Court. My collaboration with Gary is not something new. The first time he lend us his talent was while we were recording Dreamtone's Sojourn in 2005 (release date was 2006) as our story narrator. Then, in 2007, Gary helped us with a great solo on D&IM's Neverland album, Reversing Time (release date was 2008).
Well, I am very happy to have him on board once more and I am dead sure he will make my jaw drop with his epic guitar thing. Yay!
JUNE 12, 2015 - TWO NOTES AUDIO ENGINEERINGThe nice people at Two Notes Audio Engineering were kind enough to send me their Wall of Sound cabinet simulator. You will be hearing some chops where I use the simulator on the upcoming album. Cheers!
MAY 31, 2015 - BOOK UPDATE
"So, May is over and there is still no book?" I hear you say. True. Two reasons for this;
First one is that, me and my editor, Allison Williams decided to polish the book a bit more and aim a bit higher rather than rushing it for May. Since I don't have any obligation towards any publisher, I decided to work on the book more as this is the first of many and I am creating a whole setting from scratch. Interesting things may happen. I cannot tell you anything yet, because nothing is specific at the moment but I will update the process in a few weeks.
Second is that, I had to focus on Maegi's drum edits through May. I had several issues with my personal life and work and those really hindered my progress. Hence, the drum edits, which should've been done in two weeks tops, took 30 days. Therefore, the book polishing had to wait. Now that I am done with the edits and sent the files to Mike LePond, I can start working on my final touches. It shouldn't take any more than two weeks or so but I will not jinx it, as May was full of surprises. I even broke a tooth out of the blue!
APRIL 2, 2015 - MIKE LEPOND OF SYMPHONY X AND MAEGI
Yep, you read it right. Mr. Mike LePond, an all-time favorite bass player of mine will help me create Tales from the King's Court. We will have Mr. LePond record his work in June. I just sent him the edited drums of Mr. Nevolo and expecting some killer bass lines!
If you don't know what I mean, check his solo work, Silent Assassins and get ready to have your mind blown!
April 2, 2015 - WRITING AND DJ'ING AT METAL NATION RADIO
I am now writing reviews and stuff at www.metalnationradio.ca and DJ'ing at Metal Nation Radio whenever my internet allows. No scheduled shows, sorry, because my internet connection has packet loss issues and it sucks to leave a show right in the middle. Don't forget to check MNR out!
FeBRuary 6, 2015 - JOE NEVOLO OF SHADOW GALLERY AND MAEGI
Everyone who knows me... well, knows how much of a huge Shadow Gallery fan I am. In the past, I had the honor and chance to work with Gary Wehrkamp and Mike Baker (RIP). Now, drummer Joe Nevolo is helping me to create Maegi II: Tales From the King's Court! Let me tell you, his drumming is epic and has already added some great value to the tunes! Keep an eye here for some footage soon!
