NEWS & UPDATES
28.10.14 - E-SHOP OFFLINE
(laughs, looking at the previous news post) E-shop is now offline due to maintenance. A new and better shop site is being installed and it may take a few days. Sorry for the inconvenience people. No data, orders, items lost in this transition.
29.09.14 - E-SHOP ONLINE
There is now an e-shop available for buying stuff. There are several items like old Dreamtone CDs and books (upcoming) near to Maegi stuff and bundles. There will be more items available in the upcoming weeks.
The store is not hosted on this website, but on 3dcart, an online shop service providing for thousands of companies. The difference from buying this place and others? Well, first of all, this shop's income means the money coming to Maegi rather than other services. Yes, I do have to pay a monthly fee for the service provided, but rest is income. Second of all, there will be exclusive items (like Maegi tshirts and bundles) that you can find here.
All in all, welcome to the shop and feel free to contact me for your questions and concerns!
17.09.14 - EVENTS PAGE ADDED
I have added the Events page to the website. Not that I am involved in any events nowadays, it is there to act both as an archive and as a possible reference page if things change in the upcoming months.
09.09.14 - MAEGI WEBSITE REDIRECTION
As stated in my previous post, Maegi's own website (www.themaegi.com) is being redirected to this website from now on and it will stay that way. I am hoping to collect all my works in one place and you will be able to follow things from here. You can still use the other address as well, but don't be surprised if you end up here =).
Oh, and Neverland websites are now offline. You can find discography information on this website as well regarding Neverland and Dreamtone.
07.09.14 - SUMMER MOVED ON
I always adored summer and I never felt I had enough of it. Sadly, it is gone once again and rainy autumn nights are right around the corner. With both moving the studio and home, as well as the projects I am occupied with, I didn't understand how fast it is gone. In any case, it is time to give an insight for the upcoming season.
I am working on composing songs and recording demos, as well as completing my sound engineering classes. It takes time but the progress is nice. I will start shooting studio updates in the upcoming days as small video clips and they will be available via my YouTube channel. The second Maegi CD, "Tales From the King's Court" will not be available anytime sooner than winter 2015 both because of my other works and the fact that the production needs planning. I am in touch with several guest artists as a tradition but haven't decided yet if I will feature anyone in the final album. Time will tell.
Maegi's official website will be redirected to oganalp.com and this website will be the hub for all my work from now on. The URL will still work, but you will find yourself here as I don't have the time to keep up with several different websites. This website will be renovated with information regarding where to find the music and so forth.
Second, my upcoming book(s):
As some of you may know, I've written a book in recent months, part of a series of books actually, and still working on tying it to an agency. It takes time, months to be sincere and the progress is slow, unlike it is with record labels. In music, you usually get a positive or negative reply pretty fast and move on from there to another batch of labels. But in writing, the average response time is 3-4 months. Therefore, it takes time =). I have set a deadline for the printing of the book as well, and will let you know more at the end of October. Also started working on the follow up and I am hoping to be done with it around May or June 2015.
I have been leaving my soundtrack side out in the cold for quite some time now, even though I had four project offers in the last 15 months. No more. I have to plan my scheduling real tight and neat, but I am willing to produce a full soundtrack album either for a gaming project I adore or as a complementary side goodie for my book. Maybe both, we shall see. I will let you know of the progress as well.
I hope the insight was satisfactory for the time being.
All the best
16.07.14 - SO... BACK TO WORK!
The moving of my home and studio pretty much occupied every single dayin June and July (so far). But, the place is almost in full shape and soon (in a matter of days), I will start recording demos and post studio updates for Tales From the King's Court. I still need to finish some work (like finishing up re-constructing the furniture) and then, I am all set!
Regarding the book, I am still looking for options and getting in touch with literary agencies. This process will continue for a while and then, depending on the outcome, I will either work with an agent or release the book(s) from my own media company.
Take care everyone!
26.05.14 - IN THE SUMMER TIME...
So, I am finally done with the next book, done with the second draft and this week, after a final check, I will submit it for review. Wish me luck. Next month will be mostly about packing my stuff and preparing to move to our new home. Then, I will focus composing and recording demos for Maegi II: Tales From the King's Court. Hopefuly, some news (and positive ones) will be around by then about the book. I am not giving out any names etc yet (although the names are already set) before I get in touch with an agency.
Other than that, we are still playing with the guys for fun but nothing solid in means of live appearances yet. Keep an eye for updates!
Oh and I now have an Ask.fm account. You can ask questions about my work there if you wish. Faster than an email for sure. ask.fm/oganalp
07.04.14 - SPRING IS HERE (AND NOT A MOMENT TOO SOON)
Silence is usually a good thing for projects (unless they are being cancelled). Since the last update, I finished writing my first book and started editing the second draft. So far, 23 chapters are edited. Another 20 to go. Then I will do another sweep (which will be faster), and send it for consideration. Wish me luck.
Regarding Maegi's second album, I am still collecting ideas and writing MIDI files. I don't think I will be able to start recording it before early - mid 2015. I will be forced to stop working on stuff in June and July due to changing my house and moving into a new one. Handling all the stuff and setting up the studio will take some time. After that, I am in the game with full force!
27.02.14 - PROGRESS UPDATES
February was a much more productive month. I am almost 80% done with my book project and already wrote several tunes for the next album. If I can keep up the current efficiency, I believe I may be done with the manuscript before May. The calendar for Maegi II is still the same; composing until 2015 and then the production starts. I don't think releasing it before the end of next year is realistic. Since I am not tied to any label at this time, it is not obligatory.
Another good news is that our collaboration with Steinberg will continue with Maegi II. Yay!
Take care and keep an eye out for updates!
31.01.14 - MORE UPDATES
Well, nothing much changed since my last update, except for the calendar year. I wish you all a happy new 2014 (yeah, we are already in February, I know). I am still working on my new book project and I am around 40% done with it. January was a bit busy with work and seasonal flu, so I didn't have the time to work on it as much as I wanted to, but February will be different as I am planing to focus on writing with full force.
The initial scheduling is still the same; I am willing to be done with the editorial draft before summer. What will happen next? Well, that is something we will see together.
03.12.13 - SOME UPDATES
I know that I am quite silent nowadays. Don't you worry though, I am still very much productive. I am taking a break from Maegi, and working on my upcoming book series. It still has some time before I can announce anything, but things are going good so far. I believe I will be able to announce some stuff in the Summer of 2014.
Besides writing, I am also working on some fun covers to share via my Youtube pages. There will be several covers from bands that I adored to listen since when I was a little kid. I am hoping to finish recording them (at least some) before Christmas, and make them available.
Even if I am having a break from Maegi, that doesn't mean that I completely ignored the project. Certain elements of the second album is now on the sketch board. Album title, several rough compositions and certain recording plans are somewhat completed. Also, Onur Özkoç and Emrecan Sevdin (Dreamtone, D&IM's Neverland) will join me in the writing process this time. Just like old times, only different.
Regarding soundtracks, I am quite passive nowadays. Maybe, after I am done with the covers, I will start working on creating a fan-art style soundtrack for one of my favourite games.
I will try to keep you updated with stuff that I am working on. I promise.
01.12.13 - NEW WEBSITE
I was planning to update oganalp.com for quite some time now. I wasn't too fond of the old design as there were lots of accessibility flaws (like no iOS support, no mobile support, hard to update etc.). I hope you will like the new design. It is clean, fresh and much more accessible.
